What is this repository made for ?

This repo is a step by step "how to get your lab Opening Science Monitor"

I made it along a concrete case for a University of Strasbourg lab, but I conceived it with the idea that it could be useful to any lab from any french research institution.

Follow me, I'll try to guide you in the simpliest way ... (I hope 😃)

What is the "opening science monitor" ?

It's a tool for measuring the evolution of open science using reliable, open and controlled data.

From now on, let's use OSM for "opening science monitor"

What is it, what it looks like ?

First you want to have an idea of what you will get, don't you ?

You will get graphs as iframes like those ones I've got it for ISIS Lab

Not bad, isn't it ? But we can make it better ...

Ready to get it for your lab ?

I've yet told it : This repo is a step by step "how to get your lab OSM"

Follow it and you should get through.

You can't stand anymore ! You want it all and you want it now !

Take it easy and carefully, don't do that kind of job in a hurry.

I invite you to follow my recipe as a journey : at the end of this file, I give you the link to the following one and so on.

Look at this repo ; you will see numbered files : my recipe follows them one after the other in numeric order.

A good way to do is to consider and proceed one file a day, quietly ! 😌

How much time do you need ?

Once again : no hurry please. Be quiet !

In all, for the first and for each update, you'll probably spend about 10 to 20 hours of work (depending on any difficulties encountered during the process)

If you're designing your own OSM website, you'll spend the same amount of extra time (bearing in mind that you already know how to use the web content management software)

If you need help

Write a mail as precise and concise as possible to openaccessmonth[at]unistra.fr

Note 1 : This service is fully guaranted only for Université de Strasbourg, partially or not at all for other institutions.

Note 2 : Ask librarians who are familiar with databases.

If you want to contribute to this repository

No need to be a geek to contribute ! When experiencing this recipe, you may encouter difficulties due to a lack of info, imprecision etc. Then, you should suggest an enhancement, a precision, a correction ...

  • It would be fine if you'd contribute using the push function available through a git account.
  • If you don't want to open a git account or if you aren't familiar with git, please send me an email as precise and concise as possible.
